3. FAQs


Below is a list of frequently asked questions and relevant answers, to help our managers to run their teams

Q - What qualifications / checks do I need to coach?
A - All coaches need to have Emergency First Aid, Safeguarding qualifications and current CRC check. At least one coach per team also needs FA Level 1


Q - What do I do if I have a new player join?
A - Ensure their parents fill out temporary registration form before the player starts training. Email a copy to chair@aylesburyunitedladiesgirlsfc.com


Q - What do I do if I have any concerns about a child?
A - Email welfare@aylesburyunitedladiesgirlsfc.com


Q - Where can I get advice on training drills?
A - There are numerous drills available on the internet, or feel free to ask for advice in the Coaches' WhatsApp group


Q - What do I need to do on a match day?
A - As far as possible before the match:

  • Ensure pitch booked
  • Liaise with other managers if you share a pitch to agree KO time
  • Ensure referee booked
  • Update KO time and venue on website
  • Communicate details to parents / players
  • Communicate details to opposition manager (by Monday the week before the game), include Emergency Action Plan for venue

Before the match:

  • Ensure respect barriers put up
  • Pay referee (£20)
  • Ensure team warmed up and ready to play
  • Ensure players do pre-match handshake with opposition

During the match:

  • Endeavour to give a minimum of 50% match time in non-competitive matches
  • Use my position to set a positive example for the young people I am responsible for
  • Show respect to others involved in the game including match officials, opposition players, coaches, managers, officials and spectators
  • Adhere to the laws and spirit of the game
  • Promote Fair Play and high standards of behaviour
  • Respect the match official’s decision
  • Never enter the field of play without the referee’s permission
  • Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting or abusive language or behaviour
  • Be gracious in victory and defeat.
  • Place the well-being, safety and enjoyment of each player above everything, including winning
  • Never engage in or tolerate any form of bullying
  • Encourage each player to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance

After the match:



Q - How do I book a pitch?
A - Email the Matchday Secretary


Q - How do I organise a referee?
A - Email the Referee Coordinator


Q - What equipment do I need?
A - At the very least:

  • Fully stocked First Aid kit
  • Training balls (roughly 1 per player)
  • Match balls x 2
  • Cones
  • Bibs


Q - How do I order additional equipment?
A - Email the Matchday Secretary


Q - How do I get additional player-of-the-match medals?
A - Email treasurer@aylesburyunitedladiesgirlsfc.com


Q - How often should I check my First Aid kit?
A - Every month at the minimum. If you have used something and know you are down to the last one or two, then either purchase what you need yourself and email treasurer@aylesburyunitedladiesgirlsfc.com for a refund, or email the Matchday Secretary


Q - What do I do if I have to administer first aid to a player?
A - Ensure that their parent or guardian is aware of what happened, what you did and any further advice. You must also complete a Club Incident and Accident Reporting Form


Q - Do I have to attend Managers' Meetings?
A - No. They are optional. We appreciate that all managers and coaches are volunteers so are not going to force people to come along to meetings. We do ask that you let us know of anything you want to raise and read through the minutes when circulated and do any actions assigned to you ASAP
